Topic: Deep Sea Creatures from the Tsunami Posted: January 13 2005 at 10:36pm |
I have some really cool pictures of deep sea creatures found after the Tsunami hit the area. But they are saved in a bmp format and I can't figure out how to post them here. Either email me at [email protected] and I'll forward you the email I got. Or if someone could walk me through how to post them I will. There are some very strange creatures out there. Some that they haven't been able to study becuase there too hard to find.

In whatever picture editing program you have, when it's time to save the image, find the drop down list to "save as file type" and choose "jpeg" or "jpg". After that, you may have to go back and resize the jpg to less than 125K for the MB, but that should be it.
Is there a lighted angler fish like Marlin and Dory encountered? A few years ago Monique, a former WMAS member,(Where are you Monique and how's our baby Tomato clown doing?) did an article about the sexual (will this get censored?) life of the anglerfish. It's in the October 2000 issue of the Sea Star Online over there <----- We even added pics.

Read in the news section <-------------- about the tsunami effects on the coral. The article stated that the only fish washed ashore was groupers and they may have come from fisheries.

Fellow reef addicts,
It's plain to me that our "Higher Power" had a real sense of humor and somewhat of a 'crazy eye' during the creation process.

Renee- Don't be afraid of these items, they are all deep water. There are thousands of more scary and dangerous items up top that you should be worried about.

Talk about pollution! Please be more responsible Jason!!!
If you see any of these creatures while scuba diving, I'd worry more about the dangers of implosion than the dangers of these docile beauties.

BARACUDA they scare me the most. I went to red
reef down here in florida the other day and they are
not even scared of you.
I was feeding the other fish lettuce and one came to
see what I had.
The parrot fish too. Because they have sharp teeth
and they get very large like a 1' or something I am
always scared that they are going to bite off my finger
when I feed them.
I know some of the fish are real above like the
viperfish, fang tooth, lizard fish, black dragonfish,
basketwork eel, and the hatchet fish because I
leared about them in school.

The baracuda are have an eery feeling. They just float a ways off the reef watching for small fish to eat. And they're big too, down in Cozumel. So as your scubaing they just sit there and watch you. Creepy feeling

Just a thought - if your afraid of a fish biting you, don't carry food while diving.
(This also applies with bears and camping)
