I believe I have found a simple and cheap led light and would like input on the use of this. It would run over a 90 gallon acrylic tank.
it would contain 1x 100w LOHAS cool white chip 6500k 2x 50w blue led chip 1x nubee 100w led driver 12v dual output 2x150w boost step up 12v-35v
here are the links
Now the led driver has 2 outputs, does this mean it will put out 100w power to each output so it will really be 200w? or will it split the power 50w-50w. Im not quite sure on this. Now since this outputs 12v I need the step up to 35v as required by the chip.
The 100w led light would sit in the middle of the 2 50w leds that would run parallel to one output equaling 100w power. They would be attached to one big heatsink with a cooling fan running over the top hanging in the hood of my 90 gallon build.

I found a youtube video of someone setting up 2 100w cool white chips over a tank and it looked pretty nice, not sure how it will turn out, ill have to post the link next.

Im guessing the blue would be 465nm, how would this arrangement do over a 90 gallon system? it would be replacing a 250w MH 14k lamp. has anybody tried a similar setup? would these chips be worth the cost for a diy led setup to grow sps and other corals in this setup? or should I invest more in a cree dimmable diy system. I am adequately knowledgeable in electronics but not much with led drivers and knowhow. Looking to keep the cost under 100$, if anyone else has plans or ideas for cheap led setups that would give me tons of watt power to grow corals, I would be very interested.
Thanks all !

The main problem I see is no dimming function.  That driver is a 12v 8.3 Amp output.  You need 30-34volt I don't see the Amp rating on the Leds.   I am not sure this is a solid choice.

Others may have more experience and ideas.

Yah the dimming I wasn't worried about, the booster would up the 12v to 35v, but im just not sure. I might go the route on the youtube video and buy the specific driver, or just opt for 2 50w setups that come as a kit, driver and led chip. Then I could add supplement lighting for the blue spectrum as well as others

Without dimming you would burn up coral. They have to be adjustable to acclimate.
