I am going to buy an ro/di water system from ebay one of the cheap ones and i am just wondering who has bought them before and how well it works!

well this is silly. when i bought mine it didnt have a "free" pressure gauge. It appears however they are charging you for it though as the price went up.

I bought one from Aqua Pure Canada on ebay. It worked very well and is still in use 3-4 years later.

Try to find a company that sells replacement filters and buy them the same time as the filter. The ebay stores that sell these filters tend to disappear quickly and you might be left with a model that you cant find replacement filters for.

I'd also get one with a storage tank.

I have the same one as cl2ysta1 from filterdirect on eBay
 
 
I hooked mine up in October so about 4 months ago, I have 29 gallon display and 20 gallon sump. I do a 5 gallon water change every other sunday and evaporate 1 gallon a day.  When I changed water yesterday I am still testing 0 TDS. For reference my tap water here in West Jordan is 225 TDS.  I have been happy with it, I don't think its worthing spending more for a spectrapure unless your source is really bad.
