I am setting up a 40 breeder acro only tank.

I have never used these pumps before and was wondering what people thought of them and which size pumps I should try for this size tank. Obviously I like as much flow as possible without creating a constant sandstorm. I plan on only having two oposing power heads for flow plus the return.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

I think they are awesome! I have 4 #4's in my 175 and some nanos in my frag tanks.
What?! You pooped in the refrigerator, and ate the entire wheel of cheese?! I'm not even mad.... That's actually amazing!

Should I go with #3's or #2's you think?

I have had a few and I am actually looking for another 1 or maybe a 2

I have a 1 in my 30 and it is not enough flow.

They are awesome, and for the money are the best pump you can buy.

How many you need depends on how much flow from your return pump the tank already has and what types of corals you are planning to put in there. A koralia 3 is listed at 850 GPH and if you were doing sps in the 40 with not too much coming from your return pump I would say 2 #3's would be about perfect.

I run two - a one and a two in my 45. I have a ton of flow. Seems to get the job done really well.
