I wouldn't feed them live food.  It is expensive and hard to give them a good diet when using only live food.  Try krill, silversides, shrimp (raw), squid, etc.  Sometimes it takes a week or two to ween them onto frozen foods.  If they refuse to eat frozen I will usually try for 10-14 days and feed them live for a few days to get them some food and then try again.  Usually you can get them to accept frozen in a few days.  Using a feeding stick can help.

We feed ours the seafood medley stuff from the grocery store.  Reams has a bag of frozen for $2.98.  We also feed silversides and Rods predator food.  He only gets a guppy for a treat every once and a while. I agree with Jake about the live food, they don't get the nutrition they need from a live food only diet.

when I had my lion, I decided to acclimate guppies to saltwater so I could have them as feeders.  Also, I feed my lion mysis shrimp but I would have to use a turkey baster to blow the shrimp around before the lion would decided to eat them.
