i do weekly water changes to replenish elements in the water, but i never have nitrate problems with my bioload. I do however have amazing skimmers on both tanks!

In my 55 I have 1 fish per 11 gallons. (Just clownfish and engineer gobies)
In my 30 I have 1 fish per 10 gallons. (3 mollies)
In my 5 gallon refugium (on my 55 gallon), I have 1 fish per 5 gallons. (1 lionfish)

Can I count the refugium as gallons per tank? If so, it is not as bad.........
I have 54 fish in my 210, but I have a 75 gallon refugium.....................
Most fish are smaller - only 5 bigger ones.
Oh and by the way Mike - after reading what you had said about tail spot blennies, I got one for my nano - I love him! Thanks for posting your experience

yes, I believe that you can, my tank has been more stable with a 55 gallon sump vs. the 20 (1/2 full) that I had before.
so in your case if you could add more sump or a second sump that would help.

I'm curious what fish they are. How do you get that may to get along? Do you have schools of fish? What filtration and maintenence do you do?

Brad - I may have added more since that last time you were here!
Cl2ysta1 - The bad thing is that they all do have names, my daughter names them all.........We go to stores and call them by our names and noone knows what we are talking about!
CrimsRayne - I do have some schools, anthias and chromis. I have three gobies that live together - 2 yellow watchman and one that I don't remember the name of that only has one eye.
As far as doubles go - I have two yellow tangs, two blue tangs, two red tail wrasse, two pajama cardinals, two flame hawks, two purple tile fish, two janss pipefish, and two blue stripe pipefish.
The rest are all singles - blonde naso, majestic, emperor, purple, chevron, foxface,
blue lip..........I can't remember the rest right now. The lights are off and I have to open the freezer door to get them all to come out at once......
I have a 75 gallon refugium, huge skimmer, and a uv. I add the chemicals I need but as far as reactors go, I don't have any, I do a 50 gallon water change atleast once a month but tyr to do it every two weeks..........The fish all get along now, I used to have problems with a couple of them but the bullies get put in timeout for a couple days and they get an attitude adjustment......

Update - don't know how I forgot them - 2 black clowns, 2 orange clowns (they paired up 1 black and one orange), bangaii, 5 clown gobies, potters wrasse, leopard wrasse, possum wrasse, and a mandarin. I think that is it..........

The hawks came about by accident, I had one and then found a good deal on another one for my work tank, I tried to keep him in the refugium but he kept getting stuck in the divider so I put him in the tank. Him and the other one immediatley became best friends it was so cute! They were constantly side by side, if one swam one way the other would follow, they would also "cuddle" on the magnet cleaner together.
Well, the original hawk died so I bought another one hoping they would get along. They get along but they are not the same as the original two.
