I picked up a flame anthias on Saturday at The Aquarium.  She is such a cool little fish!  She was a little picky eating yesterday, but she scarfed down a bunch of food this morning.  She has jumped right in with a school of chromis and is keeping my mean chromi in check actually.  LOL

I really wanted to get one of the Bartlett's Anthias that they had, but I couldn't bring myself to put down $80 (even though I spent more than double that when it was all said and done!!) Confused

I was thinking these would be fun to "try" breeding, but I couldn't find anything in any of my books about breeding them.  I'm assuming they change sex from female to male since all of them were marked "female" at The Aquarium.  Anyone tried breeding Anthias?

I have 6 of them. No breeding though :) they are broadcast spawners. YOu would have to collect the eggs

Do you think if you kept them as a pair, without anyone else in the tank it would be possible?

it's a matter of collecting the eggs and raising them more than anything. they release them at the surface of the water. you'll have to do some more reading on it. I've never bred them though people HAVE
