Very nice and clean install. I really like the bulkhead for the pump suction. How is the pump supported?

The only thing I would say is this,
Chris at fish4U warned me against using a mag pump as a completely external pump. I don't know exactly why, I just know he did. Maybe someone else has more info than me, or more experience.

That is what I want to know. I wanted that kind as well when I made my closed loop but couldn't find it.

Hello everyone,

I think it looks very nice and clean. You obviously did your homework, good job.
Not to rain on your parade but IMO the intake is too low. As it is, if the CL leaks it's going to drain 1/2 your tank. Obviously, this is a only a remote possibility. However IME what can go wrong, does go wrong.
FWIW, you could install an elbow and a verticle pipe in the tank to bring the intake closer to the waters surface. Unforutnately, this would of course sacrifice the clean look you've managed to create.
Hope that helps,
Chris

I remember hearing about problems with using mag pumps externally. I think the problem was with noise.

The problem I have read is that mag pumps will sometimes leak. This is a big problem if the pump is outside of the tank were you dont want water. I'm not 100% but I think that they even say this in the pump manual.

What size is that PVC on the CL? 1/2 or 3/4? Does ATS have locline for 1/2 inch?
