Can you measure TDS in salt water? Or is it really only for freshwater?

NSW has approx 35 parts per thousand disolved salts... that would equate to a TDS reading of 35,ooo ppm.
 
I don't think any home TDS meter can register that high

Why did you want to know the TDS of saltwater?

This is what mark from melevsreef.com had told me:
 
"There is no way to get an accurate TDS reading of saltwater due to the ions in the water. And the salt would no doubt damage the probes of the TDS meter since salt is a corrosive. I hope you've been rinsing it in RO water at least."
