Has anyone had to re-calibrated their neptune thermometer?  I just discovered that mine was 6.5F off.  If that is true for my 'high temp' then:  81.5 F (reading) = 87F (actual) and current 75F = 81.5F

That equals ouch.  If this holds out I think I know why my tank looks like crap!

I had to recalibrate mine about 6 months after I got my AC Jr. I used my digital thermometer from my nano, and adjusted from there. Mine was about 3.5 degrees off when I re-calibrated.

I used 2 of those digital thermometers to calibrate my acjr.  But... one ended up being higher than the acjr and one ended up being lower so I just left it!  Supposedly the digital ones everyone has aren't very accurate but the floaty glass ones are supposed to be.

I took a second reading with the 'calibrated' digital and it was reading 1 degree C high.  But still I am looking at  4-5 degrees F off.

Those digital ones suck. Ive got 4 of them and they all read different. 6 degrees form the high to the low. I bought a spa thermometer to set my Neptune by. The Neptune was 4 degrees off and the expansion module was 5 degrees off.
