Hi, I had power compact on my 55g tank, but i got 2 x 175w 15000K MH, I just want to know how long they should be on per day?

Most corals need about 8 hours a day. Most people like to run the lights 8-12 hours for more growth and longer viewing.

If you just got the mh's, I would recommend starting out with 2-4 hours a day and slowly work the time up to the full time you want the lights on. This will help insure you dont shock the corals with light and bleach or kill them.

hell just leave them on 24 hours a day, stuff should grow AWESOME!  I run my MH 3-4 hours a day and my corals are still slowly growing, If you can afford to run them 12 hours, I am sure your corals would love you for it. I run a 24W T-5 for 8 hours or so though.

Michael - 120G Reef Acans, Pom Poms, Zoas... Clowns, a firefish, and a coral beauty -purple tang, sailfin desjardinii, Filtration - sump, protein skimmer, UV sterilizer, 2 Koralias, refugium.
