I bought a horseshoe crab! I'm from CT and these are very common back home. I was at The Aquarium on saturday and i gave in. I've done a lot of research online and now I'd like to hear your advice about care and special attention.

I know I bought a purple lobster and a horseshoe crab at fragstock and they have disappeared have seen the lobster once last week but never the HC. For all I know he was eating or died of something else.

I personally don't recommend keeping horseshoe crabs in captivity.  They are constantly in search of worms, etc...and very few tanks have a big enough & well-established enough sandbed to keep them long-term.  I bought one once (who can resist...they're so cool!), but he eventually starved to death.  Hope your luck was better than mine.

I have one.... he pops up every few weeks. Just when I think he's dead he shows again. They are super cool, just cryptic.

I have kept horse shoe crabs in numerous tanks for long periods of time and they are cool interesting fun to watch little critters.
What?! You pooped in the refrigerator, and ate the entire wheel of cheese?! I'm not even mad.... That's actually amazing!

How long have you guys had yours...and how big are your systems?  I've never heard of one lasting longer than 1 year in captivity...which is why I've always recommended against them.

Here's some pretty good background info...back when Fenner and Calfo were on good terms:

Sounds like with the proper diet (tubifex worms/minced clam) and an adequate sized sandbed they'll be fine.  Learn something new every day!

Nothing special it was just a mix of different things like krill, brine, nori, golden pearls, rods food, etc. So im not sure what he ate as it was like 15 or 20 different things in the food. Im not sure about the spaghetti worms.
