I am looking for some 150 HQI 10000 bulbs.  I am reading through brand descriptions and some say purer color and some longer lasting.  Which brands are best (best bang for the $) and how often should I change them?

Powerpaq makes one that has more blue than other 10k bulbs.

Sorry, I mistated about the Powerpaq.

I have used the 150w 14k Powerpaq and currently use the 20k.  The 14k is a crisp white (no yellow or blue), 20k has a bit of blue to make colors pop out better.  My 205w Phoenix 14k are bluer than the 150w 20k Powerpaq.

I hated my Aqualine bulbs!  I had two 13k and a 20k.  Very yellow.

I agree with both Crystal & Brad... Pheonix 14K is probably the best looking all-around "bluish" bulb; certainly best "bang for the buck" -

Plus, they have pretty good PAR values for such a blue-looking bulb Thumbs Up
