Topic: White Spiral spots??? Posted: June 22 2005 at 8:00pm |
|
In the last week I have noticed some white spiral looking spots all
over my glass, Powerheads, and in the sump. They do not move, but not sure
what they are. Anyone have an idea? are the harmless? I tried to take
pics, but can't get it to focus in.
Thanks,
Rob

They might be snail eggs, but sounds like egg patch of some kind

Doing a search on a bunch of forums I finally found a picture. However
multiple people said multiple things. So from what I read it is either
type of snail eggs (as Eric mentioned as a possibility) or some type of
mini feather duster worm? Can any one confirm from the pic.
Thanks,
Rob

If you look close snail eggs will look like eggs (little round things).
If they look like the picture above then they are a common feather worm that is often found in the aquarium.
How big are they? Usually the feather worms will be very small.

I had those in my Bowfront all over the back wall . . .
Tons of them, just little featherdusters.
I have tons of Cerith eggs now :) New spiral of eggs every few days.

Ya they are pretty small. I needed to use a loop to get a really clear look at the feathers once I seen that picture....
Thanks,
Rob

Tiny featherdusters. They grow all over my glass and rock. I have to scrape new ones off the front glass once a week. Not sure if they add or subtract from the health of the tank, but so far it does not look like they are harmfull in any way.
