Topic: Request for new forum topic -Acros! Posted: January 16 2004 at 8:47pm |
Would there be interest from the group to create a new forum topic specific to Acropora and other SPS corals? I for one would love to see something like this.
Let's hear it for Acros!

I would like to see an SPS/Acro forum as well. I would also like to see someone compile a list of Acro keepers in the area so that we can swap frags!
Also, how do you post pictures here? Some of the best posts are those that show pictures of the corals and tanks.

Good idea reefnut! I like that idea of a list of Acro keepers (that supply frags). I dont live in the Utah area but will be passing through in a few months and it would really be sweet to pic up a few "new additions" on my way through! I could really see some great benefit to reefers in the area with this type of listing that people could by choice list their info and available coral frags
I really do like the idea of a SPS forum. I am not sure that there is enough traffic here for it though. I would galdly support and comtribute to such a catagory if one were to be started here though.
Just my thoughts on this.....

I think there is enough interest to support a new category just for acros. You can lump most of the other "softies" under the general category, leaving the acro category to talk about the really cool stuff ...

I rarely ever read by topic/category. I just read all the active posts no matter what topic. I love and read it all; from Aiptasia to Xenia, from Aquatronics to VHO.
But then I'm a pretty enthusiastic hobbyist. I'm one of only four members that's been a member continuously from those that joined the WMAS in its first and second years. Joe & Cindy Jones and I helped start the club with four other hobbyists in March 1995. Adam Blundell joined in 1996 and is the only one left from that year. Suzy & Rob Applegarth came in on Adam's heels and have been continuous since January 1997. I guess you might say we are the die-hard hobbyists. Could we get our own topic area?

That's a good idea!! Save a reef, grow your own & trade your frags . Besides, tank raised frags are more suited to aquarium life than wild frags or colonies are!!
