Topic: Controller, yes or no? Posted: February 18 2009 at 7:06pm |
So does everyone use some type of controller? I am wondering if it is worth buying a Reefkeeper 2 or just save up for a Reefkeeper elite. Any advice?

I use a reefkeeper 2. I love how it works but I also have heard horror stories. I especially like how it controls all the lights, pumps, heater, etc. but it also posts the data to my computer for posting on my monitoring site...see link below...
This is my first tank in 20 years and my first reef tank. That said, I would not have another tank without a controller as it makes it more idiot proof...and, well...you get it...

I have a Reef Keeper and an ACIII. I have also owned a ReefKeeper II and ACjr. I like the ACIII and ACjr best. I would definitely go with a controller.

ACIII here, and I love it, but I got by for years with nothing. It's very nice, but not necessary, IMHO.
