So I have my rocks in.. My sand is settling and I'm getting lights figured out. So is my next step to start introducing a cleaning crew? What is the best to use and where can I find them? Thanks!

I just bought a ton of stuff at ccritters.com, but Fish4u is really the most reasonable I've found as a brick and mortar store and Amber will steer you clear of bad decisions. She's saved me a ton of headaches.

Careful of the crabs you add! And make sure you buy shells for the hermit crabs - or they will pull each other out of their shells!!

My favorite snails are cerith's. They dig thru your sand, climb and clean your glass and overflows, and never fall over and die.

I talked to Chad and would love to order from him in the future. Unfortunately I don't make it to SLC often enough. I actually made an order through ccritters.com because even with shipping it was cheaper than the LFS. They were asking $5 for a blue legged hermit I can get for $.50 online with a little shipping. I'm just waiting to see if they arrive alive.

One mistake I made with hermits (just make sure to laugh with me instead of at me): I had introduced my cleaning crew-crabs and snails. I knew that they would eat random detritus, algae, and that kind of junk. But I didn't have any fish, and I wasn't putting any food in the tank, so after a little while, the crabs started killing the snails and eating them. I couldn't figure out what was going on? Then I realized: they're hungry! There's nothing for them to eat!
So don't make the same mistake I did. Crabs will scavenge. But once the scavenging is done, they will get hungry. Toss some food in there every so often to give them something to clean up.

Adam, I just had the same thought last night as I was looking to see if my order would arrive. That was a slap my forehead moment. Oh well! Now I can buy something else right?
p.s. Everything arrived last night and looks like I only lost 1 crab and 1 snail. Not too bad.

So I've had a few snails die and 1 hermit. Should I leave them in there for the rest of the crew to eat? Or should I pull them out? I'd like to leave the shells in there for the hermits but should I clean them out first or let the hermits do it for me?
