Another thought-
This tank doens't need biological filtration, but it was designed so it could have live sand and live rock if wanted.  I think if it were me I'd make it a tank with live sand and not a sterile tank just for ammonia reasons.
If someone does use it like that, it would take a couple weeks after adding sand and rock to just make sure it is stable.  At least I think I would wait a couple weeks just to be sure.

Baby brine for a couple weeks followed up by cyclopeze...pretty straight forward...

I was thinking that, too. My dwarf tank is 20 gallons and I put in
about 20 minutes worth of bbs. But, they are eaten by the
corals also.

One of the issues I have found with my 2 gallon bowls is, it's
hard to not add too much food. The ones who don't get eaten
get too big for the fry quickly. I try to keep green in the water, to
keep the bbs nutritious, then the bbs grow. Tracy Travid, the
Seahorse breeder says you need intermittent feeding, so it's
hard to get rid of the uneaten bbs!

It might be challenging finding a way to feed every few hours
in the daylight hours, though...

How did you drill the holes? Are they small enough that a
seahorse fry can't sneak through?

I'll have an article on how to make the tank coming out in 3 months.  I just used my drill press, and yes the idea was small enough holes that they can't get through.  I should give my disclaimer that this tank was designed on principles from other tanks, and I haven't tried it out yet.
