So I have this 8" or so clam that has been looking great and I switched my tank over a couple days ago from a 75g to a 120g tall. It looked great yesterday and today it has its mantle pulled all the way in the clam. Is there any hope to save it?
I checked my params and my alk, cal and mag were on the low side as I didn't check them yesterday(my stupid fault) alk was at 7 cal at 320 and mag at 1080
I dosed and am slowly bringing them up.

On a side note I have four other clams that look great!

Probably just got stressed from the move. Does it just look closed up tight or is the tissue receding in? When you moved it did the foot or fiber s tear? My buddy lost his clam in like 3 days cause part of the foot got torn.

The tissue is receeding in at least a good 1/2-3/4" in:( And no the foot did not get torn it was in my sand.

Is the gill opening gaping open? If so the clam is most likely a goner...

Maybe a freshwater dip might help? I don't know much about clams, I have just heard frsh water dips have helped people before.

Freshwater dips can help with pyramid snails but they are only recommended when the clam can fully close itself to protect the mantle, gills, etc. from the freshwater.

I pulled it out. I could smell something nasty coming from my tank and I do believe it was it as it was rotting:( I am so sad.
Thanks for the help guys:)

Yea it sucked. But the rest of the tank is doing great so I am happy the move went well with only one loss.
