I have used acrylite GP instead of plexiglass brand. How much do you need? Regional Supply Inc. has a scrap pile for $1/lb.

Hello everyone,

Quote I have used acrylite GP instead of plexiglass brand.

Which acrylic to use depends on the application. The GP product is a cast arylic, as such it is suitable for creating water vessels. Their extruded acrylic (FF?) is less expensive but should only be used for non-vessel and non-critical do-dads.

Basically, the extruded acrylic will absorb water and swell. If it swells too much, it can burst a welded seam and....

Hope that helps,

Chris
