Just curious on your guys' thoughts about using this retro for a 40 gal that I will be setting up. Its a 40 Breeder (36x18x16). Kinda worried about spot lighting to much. Maybe a different reflector would help with that? Also looked into AI SOL lighting but it would definitely cause some spot lighting with using only one unit. So like I said I think I will be going with the MH lighting.

Also if anyone has any lighting for sale I am looking for some T5HO's and/or MH's. A point in the direction of a good deal (new/used) would also be appreciated! Thank you! :D

With a 3 foot tank you would need 2 150s on it, but lighting depends on what you want to grow might not be enough still for sps all over may want 250s?. IMHO. Oh and I am pretty sure it comes with a 150 not a 250, think they screwed up the description.

I have a t5 set up over my 40 breeder and love it. Its actually for sale. 2 250s will fry your tank.

Haha yeah Im thinkin 2 250s on a 40 would be like trying to have a tank on Mercury. I like the calm look you get with the T5HO's, but I've always been a MH kinda guy. I like the bright vibrant shimmer look you get with MH's.

I was ALWAYS a MH guy... then  my dang brother convinced me to go to the dark side... with $$ being saved in the power bill and no issues with heat, I dont know if I will ever go back to MH!
