Ok , I need to upgrade my flow / water movement

I have up untill now faught the idea of adding pumps to the display tank however I want some crazy motion.. I currently have a 240 gal display tank that is a 48 x 48" square walkaround.. What I want to do is mount some sort of pump in each corner spraying in towards the reef.. I have looked at Tunze Turbelles however I think their big and bulky and hoaky.. My other thoughts would be streams or maybe even Seio's I would love some thoughts on this subject.. I currently have an ampmaster 3000 for the main return..

has anyone delt with or had the seio's for any length of time?

thanks
dan

Sequence Dart in a closed loop all the way...  Skip the Ampmaster.  I think Marine Aquatics even has a Dart in stock.

The only problem with closed loop is where to put the pump.. The tank has a center/island overflow and I don't have an extra couple holes in the bottom of the tank for closed loop.. I considered putting an external pump above the tank but starting and stopping it would be a pain.. Not to mention the noise and look..

i'm prob going to start off trying 4 , 1500 seio's to see what that does, if they suck i guess i'll ebay em' my biggest problem is the look thing,, right now there aren't any pumps or anything un-natural looking in the tank.. Now I just gotta figure out how to mount the things..

You could do a Blundell surge device!

I have had seios  in my tank now for 6 months and have had no trouble with them. I even turn them off once a day for feeding. But I have heard that they are not good for any on, off operation, like hooking them up to a wave outlet.

Mine are just the m620's. I'm sure you would want the 1000 or 1500 pumps.

I ordered 4 , 1500's we'll have to see how they do.. I'll prob just hook them up to run all the time but have the neptune kick them off when I feed.. Or i'll set them up to random on/off and replace the impellers as they break.. apparently they have a tendancy to de-magnatize or something and then the ceramic shaft gets weak then snap' but @ just under 70 bucks a shot if they last a year or 2 i'm doin ok..

I agree, for the price , you can't beat them.  How much bigger are the 1500's over the 620's?  Is there a way you can put them right in your corners and shoot them out on a 45 degree angle? Or are you just putting them close to your corners?

I love my seios but then again I'm not trying to have a nice, slick, clean look, display aquarium.  If you don't mind the look I think they will do great for you.

Yep.  It is much easier to display disarray.
