So here is my very long story about the most incredible customer service I received from IceCap.

I purchased two ballasts from someone in the club a year ago.  He said (I certainly believe him) that they were brand new.  They must have been because they were made in 2004 and I bought them in early 2004.  Anyway I just now got around to using them.  Yes, I bought them without a tank for them because I was just too excited to get them.

Anyway they are made to run four 4 foot vho bulbs.  When I flipped the power on the ballast tried to fire two bulbs but not four, then tripped the fuse.  Okay lucky for me I had purchased two ballasts.  So I switched ballasts and tried again.  This time two bulbs fired (then tripped the fuse), but they were the other two bulbs.

Obviously I'm thinking I messed up the wiring and just blew out both of my ballasts.  So I got out the Ohm meter, and sure enough all of my wiring looks good.

Come to a meeting, they’re fun!

(making two posts, otherwise my post would be as long as a Mark post)

so I sent my ballasts to IceCap.  I checked to see what day they should be arriving.  I called that afternoon just to check on them.  The guy (Dave) checked and said he didn't have my ballasts.  I thought that was fine they'll probably just arrive the next day.

Dave then explained to me they didn't have my ballasts because they had come in that day 10am.  Then by noon he had them repaired.  Then by 1pm they had already shipped out to me.  I couldn't believe they had within 3 hours they already had my ballasts back out the door.

Hooked em up, they work great.  Invoice in the box Total Due $0.  Didn't even charge me for the shipping.

Wow, I love IceCap.

Adam

IceCap is great to work with. I had a similar experience with a very old VHO ballast. They repaired it in record time - however, the charged me the standard $45. (the ballast was like 10 years old)

It worked great for another 3 years and finally quit. I bought another used replacement - IceCap of course!

Good story.

I'll try to keep this short

A friend had an icecap he bought locally. It went bad in about a year. An LFS different from the one where the original purchase was made, offered to replace it free on the spot, no questions asked. That one went bad six months later. Same LFS replaced it on the spot. So not only is Icecap good to work with, so was this LFS.

Answer to the obvious question:  MSM
