as long as it does not have the "bio-guard" in it it is fine I have used it, look for window and door trim. otherwise it seems that the bio guard is in everthing, also you want the ge silicone II

Always read the warning. Most times it will say not for aquarium use, but there is one GE silicon that can be used safely and lacks this warning.

Are you going to use this on Acrylic or Glass? My experience with silicone on acrylic has not been stellar. It has worked great of course with glass. It could have been by prep on the acrylic but since it is easy to glue to itself I did not investigate further.

Gahlenfr is correct. Do not use silicone to make a acrylic sump. Weldon should be used for these applications, but as Marcus mentioned silicone works fine for acrylic inserts in a glass sump.
