Did changing the sock change the water level in the sump?

Was the sock absolutely clean? Did it have some soap or other chemical on it?

How about other changes in the tank that were made at the same time as the change of the filter sock?

Tanks continue to go through changes throughout their lifetime. Sometimes the skimate is heavy and sometimes light. Just placing your arm in the tank can destroy a good foam which then takes a day to resume.

Looks to me like the skimmer needs to be taken out and given a good vinegar bath!

Try adjusting it a little to skim wet right now. That might help get any chemicals out that may have come from the sock.

Give me a call I will help ya. (801)336-6768 looks like you might need to submerge it a little more or raise the water level inside the skimmer body a little bit.
