Well Sukie got me started in this wonderful hobby that is so very addicting!  Long story short since then I have officially introduced two people(that now have SW tanks)--and a third is upcoming very quickly.  Anyways--one of these people decided to use a Bio-Orbe as the tank.  pretty cool globe shaped aquarium in my opinion.  We had to tweek the filtration, etc, etc, etc...BUT it is working great!---Can't argue with 5 Months of success!  he he!

Anyways---we knew that the lighting SUCKS for reef things, and we found a number of macro algae do wonderful.

Well...long story short, as with any tank, Aptasia made its way!  Actually, we were glad that they made there way in.  This wonderful anemone, bless its heart(er, um, something like a heart), is so fun to play with.  You can poke it, feed it, watch it, etc.  It is actually fun to have in a "poor light" aquarium.  In fact, it has split a few times and we now have "babies"--Oh--how cute!

Seriously however, like weeds, something is only considered a pest if it is somewhere that it should not be---These Aptasia, are more then welcome in the darkness!

Just thought I would add my little GOOD Aptasia story!

Ryan

PS---Said tank has: Sm. Clown, serpent star, hermits, snails, mushrooms, macro, live rock and worms.
----Said tank doesn't have: Sand bed, Lights---
----Said tank gets a partial water change once every two weeks and is doing great!
Nobody is perfect! I'm a nobody!

I used to breed Berghia (the Aiptasia eating nudibranch).  After I stop I keep a few Aiptasia in a mason jar in my basement with essential no light (just ambient room light).  I keep them for years this way.  Manjanos are also fun to keep in a small container.  I have some on my desk at work in a small aquarium.
