Thanks to the new Alpine fire we might have to evacuate.

I'm not too worried about my house actually burning down, but if they kick us out of suncrest, who knows how long we could be away.

Are there any things I can do to give my tank better chances if we can't go back for a few days?  How about if the power goes out?

Ugh

Do you have a battery backup for it or a generator?

Indefinite hiatus from sw aquariums.

Once I have my glorious return I'll set back up the following.
50 Gallon rimless cube.
180 Gallons mixed reef paradise

The best way to keep things okay without water movement is to lower the temperature to 65-70. This lower temp does not hurt the coral or fish, but provides more Oxygen. Dissolved O2 is higher in cooler water. Unfortunately, without electricity the Air Conditioning is unavailable and the house heats up.

Luckily the winds forced it up the mountain to the east and away from all the houses.

This was the view up our street when we got home last night

Took the dog for a walk up a little circle near our house and this was the view there.

We can still hear the planes flying back and forth over there, but at least it isn't threatening anyone anymore...
