I'm guessing its some sort of anemone. I saw it eat a brittle worm and grow. I noticed 2 or 3 on that rock and so far I think I saw a start somewhere else too. Does anyone know what this is? I had one in my 40g and saw it die off (lack of food?) Looks cool but unsure if safe to have

Yes a sort of anemone I forget the name, but they are reef safe and unlike majanos they aren't pests. I've had a few in the past and thought they were pretty cool too.

ok cool thanks. yeah theyre really cool. i enjoyed watching it eat. reason i figured it was an anemone was cause when i rotated it under the sand, it move up to the sandbed with a worm in its mouth i thought it was so cool but dont want anything that will hurt the tank. and just did a little research, maybe a strawberry anemone?

It's a pseudocorynactis - closer to a zoanthid than an anemone. They will reproduce quickly if fed, but they tend to keep to the shadows.

common name is strawberry nem. i have a ton. probably 75-85 on one rock. i flipped the rock and they all moved to the other side lol...love shadey areas. i never feed mine. they multiply in a few different ways. some ways are splitting like a reg nem and when they move they leave a little buddy behind
