My husband youtubed it. clean area with vinegar, take your silicone and draw along the seam then take an old plastic credit card or something similar and cut off the edge and go along the seam to fill in gaps. I'd go to youtube so you can see what I mean.
You can do it the way faith said, but I wouldn't trust it. That's alot of weight and water on a small silicone bead. Your most strength and durability comes from the silicone in the middle of the glass that creates your hold.that way when the water pushes the glass it can't "move" away from the silicone line. I have heared you have to cut the panel off and re-attach the whole panel. But hey I could be wrong, I have been before. For me the fear of 125gallons of water on my floor isn't worth saving $100-$200
The issue is that silicone won't bond to cured silicone, therefore you have to take the whole panel off without messing up the other panels, take off the old silicone, clean it well and redo it. Lengthy process. I tried it on a forty I had a broken panel on and never could get the top frame off to get started. So it's in my furnace room. You can have it to practice if you want.
I resealed the bottom in my 90 gallon it has not leaked. I just pulled the old silicone off and cleaned it than used aquarium silicone I bought from bird world.
