is there something wrong with it or do you have something out of balance? If you need a place to temporary house it, you could throw it into my frag tank.

I would guess that it needs sand under it. Clams like sand to put their foot into.

well for starts it was in the main tank right by a bigger clam on a rock. Everything was good with it. I had this clam for about 8 mouths now. The footing on the clam was connected to a rock and it just fallen of today. I talked with someone else and they said it was dieing and to take it out. What city to you live in chk4tix?

I'm still at work for a little bit, but Rachel is home so you could drop it off to her.

FYI - hate to be the bearer of bad news ... but of the hundreds of clams I've had - I've never seen one come back after they have receded that far. In fact, I'd bet when you take it out it stinks pretty bad.

No idea what causes that. Could be a number of things. I would get an order of 100 clams, and two would do that in a couple days, while the rest of the order would thrive. Tough call. I'd just verify water quality, make sure you dont have any parasites, that you have the right lighting. Could just be that the foot was torn from the fall, and it got an infection and died. But you just never know.

The clam's foot been on that rock for a long time. The clam look like its was getting infection somehow and then ended up falling for the rock. The Clams love the light that I have. I still have one more clam and it's always wide open. Im looking for parasites but cant find any.So Im try on looking
