I agree with the light thing. They should have a
bigger selection. Also peices such as sockets,
wiring, bulbs, balasts, and such sold seperately.
They seem to only have complete sets.

For example: I need a double ended HQI socket. I
cant get one unless I buy a Reflector, wiring, and in
some cases bulbs and balasts.

there is one LFS that has alot of that stuff. He is my specialty store, but again markup.....
I will just give my warning that your system will flood, bulbs will burn out, and things will take continuous maintenance... get over it.

One of the things that bothers me with FS is that most list the specimens as acropora or montipora or worse yet only by their common names.  I would like to see the full latin name more often.  I understand that not all would be classified but most are common.

A deep discount for dying or damaged corals. I got a coral this way several years ago and it made a nice recovery in my tank. They may as well get some money off of it since in a bit it will be a complete loss. I won't pay full price for a coral that looks like it is over 25% dead.

I agree with the price lists. You never know if the more regular customer gets a better price than you. I also really like the date of arrival that BW puts on their price tags. It's too bad the little LFS can't compete with the internet sites too. When a MAG 12 costs $150-180 at a LFS and $98 at Marine Depot it's a no brainer where to buy it. I'd gladly pay $10-20. The bad thing is sometimes your  buying the equipment cheaper than they are.

If that's the case they need to find a new wholesaler.

I think Happy hour would be cool! Mabe on there slowest day of the week. $2.00 frags or whatever.

Or buy 1 frag regular price get another for half off like Payless Shoe Store.

I also want them to stay small and personal. Too many times do I walk in a store like Walmart or Shopko or Petsmart. It feels so unpersonal.

However it would be nice if the small stores could hire a greeter and hand out smiley stickers.
