I have a 55 gal tank, 30 gal refug with grape caulp. under tank. 60 # lr 30+ ls.   I only have some brown pylups and a rock anem. Y tang, damsels, sift star, crabs, snails. ect...

Anyway I only have 2 40w 48inch long striplight bulbs one 50/50 and other is a aquarium light from hd.  and 1 15w 100% ace.  I want to upgrade but its soooo much $$$$ anyone know something I can do like change the balist to like 110w. or what please help I want vho.

Alot of folks have been getting the Workhorse 5 or 7 ballasts. The WH7 will run up to 220 watts, and the WH5 will do up to 128 watts. Everyone I know who is using them are extremely happy with them.  I believe the WH7 goes for around $45 at Commercial lighting in SLC.

No, most likely you'll have to rewire and change the ballast.  And use different (VHO) bulbs.  You might want to check out the options of overdriving your NO bulbs.  The thread is here: http://www.utahreefs.com/forum/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=11&TopicID=331&PagePosition=1 .
