Nothing uses potassium to any extent so it will just concentrate up.  If I were adding NO3 to my tank I would first look for calcium nitrate since the calcium will get consumed in no time by the corals.  If I couldn't find that I'd next look for magnesium nitrate.  Then look at sodium nitrate, then finally potassium nitrate.
