    Posted: October 15 2004 at 10:03am

Hello everybody!!!  (TGIF) I was just wondering if anybody had any ideas or had any frags of some good starter corals.  I am new to the hobby and dont know much about them and dont have many of them.  Of course I would be willing to pay for them so just let me know.  I already have some polyps and some mushrooms.  My tank is only a 15 gal nano so I dont know what else to put in there that would be cool.

Thanks,

Tyler

Those are pretty cool.  Kenya tree will do very well in a nano.

....hint....  Suzy is offering you some 'shrooms, Tyler!  She has really great ones.  So does Will Spencer.  Also KeoDog.

You could do an area-specific tank.  Diana Tabor has good info about that.  Basically, the idea behind that is to get corals from one part of the ocean & stick to them.  That way, they should be fairly happy together.  But that's one of those "nice ideas" that goes to the wayside when you start seeing pretty corals that you just gotta have.

Time for you to visit a couple of peoples' tanks, I'd say.  Green star polyps, woods polyps, yellow polyps, gorgonians, & green nepthea have all been easy for me.  Xenia was easy for a while, and then suddenly I couldn't keep any of it.  But it's better now.

So...   it all comes down to what you like, and then figuring out whether what you like is workable in your tank.
