This isn't really a DIY posting, but wasn't sure where else to post it.
When I first got my tank, it had some really nasty scratches all over it. On my quest to finding some way of taking the scratches out, I bumped into a guy that polishes medical plastics. I had him take my tank and he did a really good job on taking out the majority of the scratches. Since my tank has the rounded corner, he had a tough time taking those out. I was really happy with the results. He sands and does not use heat to take the scratches out. He explained to me that heating the plastic causes "crazing" and will eventually crack the acrylic. In medical equipment alcohol breaks any plastic that is crazed, so he never uses heat when polishing any plastic.
