Hello,

I have a maxijet pump that turns on, but the propeller doesn't spin or move any water.  I can hear the pump turn on.  Any ideas would be appreciated.
Here is what a customer said while on hold Oh my gosh! Did you open the door? I told you not to open the door. Dre is in here completely naked and he's got freak'n Macaroni and Cheese in his hands.

The impeller could be clogged with scum.

If it is clean, heat might have caused the impeller to expand, causing too much friction for it to move.

If the impeller seems perfectly fine, then the magnetic coil might be damaged inside the pump.

I would take it apart, clean it, and go from there.

+1 ^^^  They get mulm build up on the impeller shaft that restricts flow into the impeller socket and then they start to heat up. Once they get too warm the plastic bulges and touches the impeller so that it wont spin. Clean it all up good in some vinegar and water and if it doesnt turn after that it's probably time to replace it. Krazie

Oh... It's called mulm.

Yet another thing I've learned from old man Krazie.

Yup. If you end up with mulm on your LED lights then you have a much more serious problem!

You'll end up with mulm on your face if you're not careful.

It's happened before, will probably happen again. Those impellers get slippery!

Check and see if the impeller part and magnet part are still connected. I've had them break so the magnet spins just fine but the impeller blades don't.   A little super glue will get you working again if this is the problem.

+1 DMower I have had now 2 maxijet 1200 break the little tab that keeps the magnet and impeller blades spinning together, ifbthat breaks off and then viola no more water flow. I think it has happened to me twice now as it's the pump I use to run my dual reactor and the back pressure after a short time takes its toll. Super glue fixed it right up.

I agree. The fix is to superglue the magnet to the impeller shaft.

I have more of those impellers if the fix doesn't last.
