Topic: Thoughts on Nutrition.... Posted: February 03 2004 at 6:10am |

Hi, Guys! A while back we were talking about growing our own live
food. I've been researching, experimenting and actually growing live
food for about a year now. Is there anybody not growing food that
has been thinking about it, that would like some guidance?
(Sometimes my threads get kinda ignored and I thought I would
check to see if anybody wants to know before I start...)

Suzy, perhaps a presentation that can be posted to the left would be a better way to go. That way it remains useful to us all as an immediate reference instead of searching for and wading through these postings. I would be interested in it!

I was thinking a thread, 'cause I want more info, too. I know I'm not
the only one doing this.....
And, it's not that informative......just cheap!

I was just looking at the presentations when I saw this thread. I think live food growth would be an excellent addition to the presentation library for us all. I also agree with Suzy that the forum allows for more input.
Maybe some of us could volunteer to wade through some of the Do-it-yourself threads to create presentations from them. I would be willing to compile a topic or two (that is after I have actually tried the procedures and have some successful experience) I am still too new to write an authoritative presentation. But I could outline one and then submit it to the presidency for review and editing. Something like that.

Are you just humoring me? Are you trying to make up for that
previous dungeon comment? Since there's not much interest in the
blond version of live food:
Here's an update on the dungeon::

Ok, 2 interested...Will everybody read it, and let me know where
I've been misinformed?
Carl, maybe I got you mixed up with another guy who was
questioning my drywall skills. Which brings up another point: I HATE
DRYWALL. I hate drywall mud and scrapers and the dust that goes
everywhere. In fact, I hate 2x4's and nail guns and levels! To be
really blunt, I hate all WALLS. Why can't we just enjoy big open
places!!!!!

Suzy!?! How can Bob the Builder hate all of that stuff? I'm going to chalk that up to a long frustrating day of working on your basement.
I have toyed with the idea of starting a Green Water, Phyto, Brine Shrimp farm for my new aquarium. I specifically got interested when reading the information on the web page with the talking sun polyps. (I can't find the web address right now, but I'm sure someone has it. I'll edit this if I run across it.) edit: (Yes, Suzy, that's the one. Should have kept reading before posting) Anyway they are farming all three and feed it several if not many times a day. I think it would be neat to start a small farm in my basement. If I can convice my wife I to let me. Any info would be appreciated.

You could put a smaller version under your tank! Set up a couple of
bottles next to your sump! I think you could get the most bang for
the space with just green....You have to light the sump, anyway
Mark just had a bottle in his window.....I think he just shakes it once
in a while. Are you out there, Mark?

Aeration by pump and bubbler grows it much faster, especially with my own personal blend of fertilizer.
