Probably I like the BRS units. They aren't the cheapest but they are built well, have great support, and they last.

+1 for BRS. I shoot for a sediment filter, carbon filter, 75gpd membrane, and DI chamber.

I was looking at a cheap one on eBay but am thinking about spending the extra cash, would this do the job? http://www.ebay.com/itm/PORTABLE-Dual-Use-Reverse-Osmosis-Water-Filter-System-DI-RO-80-GPD-MEMBRANE-/181260322384?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a33f50650

I'm sure it would work, although I have no idea of its longevity.

If you are going to purchase new from ebay try this seller, I've purchasedmany through this seller and you will get the option to purchase bulk filters, do it. Haven't been dissatisfied with them yet for an affordable unit. BTW, the filters are mostly the same across the board from them or other retailers.

80gpd?! No.
Stick to a 75gpd membrane. They're the most efficient and economical when you have to replace them. You can't just swap out membranes one-for-one. You'll have to get a flow restrictor valve as well.
I also don't understand the point of the carbon filter after the DI filter. After DI there shouldn't be anything left.
