Ok so I know we went over this a few months ago but just a thought.
What if you didnt want to use the kalk reactor for your top off water but instead only wanted to use it when nessisary for controling/raising ph ?
Have one chamber with a float valve and a small pump hooked to a ph controler. Then build a conventional style reactor and put a ball valve or other type of restriction on the output. When the ph falls the reactor would dose at a slow controled rate. when it wasnt nessisary it would dose nothing.
Just a thought.

Good idea, but would you also be running another top-off for evaporation??? How would you be able to run the both at one time??? I run my kalk in line with my auto top-off with absolutely no problems yet(knock on wood). Is your PH remaining too high??? Maybe eliminate a stirring when it's closer to the lights coming on. I was getting a ph of 8.3-8.4 until I dropped to a 5 min stir @ 4 am. My ph has remained 8-2 to 8.1 since.
