I just got a "Advance Ballast" ballast for a 175 w bulb.  And pluged everything in and my light goes off after the warm up.  I know the light and ballast worked when I purchased them cause we tested it.  So I'm wondering if my old houses wiring could be the problem or if I just have too much juice running to that one outlet in the house.

Dose anyone know what would cause my lights to do this?  Flickering off affter they warm up

It's the bulb more than likely.  One of my 250s did the same thing for the first 3 months I had it.  After re-firing several times it would eventually come on and stay lit.  I checked with the seller about this behavior and they said it happens sometimes and should go away after the bulb is burnt in.  I was told this was about 80 hours but like I said, it took mine 3 months...

Does the bulb eventually come on?  If it never comes on I'd get a replacement bulb to make sure that's the problem...

What brand of bulb is it?  Some bulbs require a pulse start ballast instead of a probe start.

ahhh no, hey tell me if you can't get it to work.  It worked perfect before I unhooked it to come to the meeting.  Try to let it run for a while, since its a new bulb, also I never tried on of those 5500K's in there only 10000 and 12000 (yuck).  Didn't you get more than one bulb?  I know sometimes the bulb has to burn in a little before it fires right.

All is fine.  I tried leaving it alone and letting it go off and on for a while and it finally came on and stayed on.  It must have been the new bulbs.    Thanks for everybody's help.
