I just picked up this tank locally from a guy a couple of days ago.
I am really frustrated now. When I talked to him he said that everything worked fine, but the fuse had burned out of the ballast in the lights.
I got the tank home and then looked at the fuse. I looked around after calling him because it turns out he put the wrong fuse in. Anyway I ended up calling JBJ and found out that the fuse was a 2 amp 250 volt fuse.
I went down and bought the fuse then stuck it in and turned on the power and expected to see light.. No such luck... Now I don't know what I should do. I have a nice tank with no lights. I have tried to call the guy back he wont return my calls. what options do I have for lighting if I want to keep the stock lid for this? This is my first nano I would appreciate any advice you guys can offer. Thanks

The ballast went out on my 24G JBJ nano too.  I had a spare from another nano I scrapped for parts.  Here is the replacement.

Throw a couple ecoxotic panorama pro fixtures in the hood. I'v done it on a couple tanks now and they are amazing! and you can keep the stock look by mounting them in the hood, its very easy.

Here is a pair of them and a stunner strip mounted in a 24G aquapod. I just used a small screw and nut to attach it.

Here is one i just finished yesterday. its on a 14 gallon biocube. its a ecoxotic retrofit 2D mounted in the hood. This thing is going to throw a ton of light! again i just used a small screw and a nut. the you can see the 4 heads of the screw but i plan on painting them black and you won't even know they are there.

Do you have a plastic cover over them on the 24?

I just took the stunner strip off my BC14 because it was corroding where the reflector clips on.

I sold that tank a while ago, I never has a cover on it and I never has any issues with rust, I didn't have a reflector on it though..
