I have 2 maroon clowns, one is fairly small, the other is fairly large, about 3-4 inches.  The were housed in a 30 gallon tank about 6 months ago, I added a Anemone that stayed alive for about a month but slowly died.  During its lifetime it had moved into a crevice that prevented the larger clown from hosting in it, but it slowly withered away and died.  I had figured that the water conditions had caused its demise since I had issues keeping the water quality in check in my 30 gallon but had noticed that my larger clown appeared to be biting the anemone.
So about 2-3 months ago I upgraded to a 90 gallon tank with a 40 gallon sump.  When setting it up I used all live sand/rock and about 50% live water(about 20 gallons from my 30 gallon and 15ish from my friends tank he took down).  The tank seems to be doing good and so I thought it was time to get a new Anemone.  So I bought a new RTBA for $80 from the LFS.  As soon as I put in my tank the smaller clown was hosting in it, but the bigger one was taking bites at it, then it would host in it, then it would take bites at it.
I am not sure if the bites were love nibbles or what but after about 5 hours, I look in my tank and see the larger clown swimming around with the new Anemone in its mouth.  It was eating it and now all the other fish were joining in.
The clown seems to take bites at a frogspawn in my tank also, but doesn't seem to try to host in it, although, when I feed my duncans shrimp, the clown normally steals the food and spits it into the frogspawn.
Any ideas?  I am about to get rid of this clown because it is upsetting me to no end...
