So I tossed a McCosker's Flasher wrasse  in my tank today.. and I watched him for about an hour before I left for work  and everything seemed fine then... but when I came home from work I have yet to see him (I've been looking for about 2 hours now) I've checked the over flows the floor etc, but nothing, I'm curious if its usual for them to hide for a a long time while getting used to a tank or what the deal might be...

do you think this might be a loss or do you think its just hiding still?

Most likely hiding.   I've had them hide for 4-5 days before they get comfortable with their new home.  But it always makes you nervouse, doesn't it.Smile

They are really cook to watch when they come out and flash.  Keep the tank covered though, they will jump, as well as hide.

If you are looking for another type of wrasse to add, we have had great luck with a Yellow Corisse Wrasse.  Great fish.  Great color.  Buries himself at night, but is out all day.

I'm on a wrasse kick myself lately!
What?! You pooped in the refrigerator, and ate the entire wheel of cheese?! I'm not even mad.... That's actually amazing!
