I just wanted to spend a quick second to rave about Neptune's customer service.

I bought my Apex four years ago, and I never messed with updating the firmware (shhhh...I was lazy.) Well, the base unit finally died last week. I tried to troubleshoot it myself, and I eventually gave up. I submitted a trouble ticket to Neptune, and within a few hours, I had everything in place to ship the base unit to them the next day. I was told that the repairs could run from free to $150, depending on the damage. I was fully prepared to spend the full $150. I was also told they would split the shipping (I pay there, they pay for it to ship back.)

I shipped it, and the same day they received the unit, they found that several components had worn out. They replaced the components, ran diagnostic tests, and updated all the firmware. The bill was $70. As soon as I paid, it was shipped right back to me, the same day.

Within a week, the unit is back to me, running better than it ever did before. They even answered my questions on a Sunday. I can't say enough good things about Neptune!

I had a similar experience years ago with one of their AquaControllers. Great company, great products, great customer support.
