Nice job
I see you put that Utah Rock to good use, Mike
How did you do the arch?
What is holding it up?

thanks, it came out good i think for a first timer. i used pvc, heated it up with a torch then bent the arch. then i put a couple legs that sit under the sand and a couple of big heavy rocks on top of them. rocks are drilled out in back so i could thread zip ties through. drilled the pvc to thread the zip ties through as well. then built up around the rest to fill it in. i think i need too fill in a few more spots. thanks again for the rock

What type of bit did you use?
Did you need a hammer drill?

Beautiful arch. I wish I were that good with my hands! I suck at DIYs. This reminds me of a tank that is quite famous on reefcentral incredible rock workHave you considered adding one more arch? That would enhance the aesthetics of the tank greatly; and add more place for you to mount corals.

the lbtr is quite soft. i think a hammer drill would break it up, but i did not try it. i used a regular drill and regular bits, actually a couple. the mason bit i had was dull. i think a sharp one would work as well.

thanks. yeah i have thought about adding another shape into it. when you heat up the pvc you can make any shape that you want. this was a lets see if it would work type of project.

Very Nice I was thinking about doing something like that to my tank, but I will probably have to wait until I start a new one.
