So in my previous thread I explained how I got a black O clown and perc. I acclimated them and now I'm noticing that my perc has black spots on it's body. What could be the reason for this?

There could be a few reasons, but this happened to me with a new juvenile clown fish.  I did a lot of research on the internet and the cause of my clown's black spots seemed to be that he tried to host in a coral that stung him.  He tried it a few times and ended up with 3 tiny black spots.  I think he quite trying, and the spots have completely disappeared.  The spots occurred around mid-to-late June and they took about a month or so to go away.

I agree with Molli he is prob getting stung by a coral he is hosting.

You can live for many causes, but you can only die for one. Pick that one very carfully.

but from what i can tell he's not in another coral. At night he lies beside the anemone. with his face touching it while the dominate and larger black O clown lies under it. The rest of the corals I have are zooanthids mushrooms and candy canes. Also a colony of duncans but he never goes near it.

I'm pretty sure it was zooanthids that stung my little clown fish.  They are very toxic.  He was captive raised, but seemed to have learned his lesson.  Some clowns will try to use zooanthids as their host.

I also had a perc get black spots from hosting some different corals. Once she got used to the anemone the spots slowly started to fade.
