I have had a female swallowtail angel for a while now, and have recently been thinking about getting her a boyfriend. I had never seen a male until a couple of months ago and didnt realize how cool they really are. So I guess my question is how hard is it to pair them up if the female is already established in my tank? I actually dont care as much to see mating behavior as much as I just want them to get along, and for the male to keep his coloration. Its not something im planning on doing immediately, but hopefully sooner than later. Also, for all you guys on the board that have access, how hard are these fish to get? Thanks in advance

From what I understand, it may or may not work. Females will turn male if they are dominant, so your female might already be starting to change. I haven't been able to find too much information on this topic. It was suggested that you need to get two females and hope one changes. But often they can fight too much and never work it out.

thats kinda what i read too jesse. I read about a few guys that put females together and after a couple years one still hadnt changed. Another guy on the same forum said to just throw the male in with the two females, but didnt really explain much about it.... anybody else have any experience with this?
