Anyone have any novel ways to break the syphon created when the pump from your sump stops? I can place the return just barely under the surface and let it break after syphoning a small amount. This is the way I've always done it, but I'd like to extend the return(s) down lower in the tank I'm setting up now, so this solution is out. I've drilled small holes in the pipe right at the point where it drops into the water, but I think this will lead to a lot of salt creep (spray). I think this method will work ok if I could direct the spray down. Maybe a small 1/8" tubing elbow or somthing??? Any other suggestions? Good idea to use a small elbow. The black plastic connectors used for sprinkler drip irrigation have worked well for me.
