Are Puffers not reefsafe because they eat corals, or because they eat inverts, or is it a little bit of both?

Just curious.

Thanks,

Tim

Inverts and sometimes the fins of other fish.

I've never had a problem with other fish, but I've got a stars and stripes that will eat anything. Condy's, xenia, leathers, starfish, snails, whatever can't move too fast. I had some xenia in with him for several months, it was doing fine. One day, he decided it looked like dinner and he ate lots of it within two minutes, before I could get it out of there.

Surprised me too! Witnessed him taking great big bites though.

From what I have read, Valentini's are typically the only reef safe puffer, and even with them it's really hit and miss.
