I have had my Coral Beauty for 4.5 years in my 90g, it has done incredibly well and is one of my favorate fish, however due to a move I must downsize to a 25g.  Would the coral beauty be healthy and happy or should I look for another home for it?

the general rule is 5 gallons per inch. I think 25 gallons for an angel is a little small.

I've never seen that rule applied to saltwater fish. Coral Beauties need swimming room and places to hide. 30 gallons seems to be the smallest recommended. This may be due to the length of the tank for swimming room as well as the water volume.

is it less or more? thats what i have always been told. i think for swimming room..?  the problem with a small tank like that is after you add rock and corals if your keeping them. there is very little swimming room left

The fish itself won't top much over 3" but they do like room to swim... personally, I would vote that a 4' long tank is the preferred minimum...

so I'd say a 55g would be the "smallest" tank I would keep a CB in.

More or less depends on the species. A 4" blenny need much less swimming room that a 4" dwarf angel for instance. As far as adding rock and swimming room it depends on how tightly the rock is packed in. I tend to keep my rockwork very open. Others like to make a reef wall.

I'd say go for it.  Every online site I have seen recommends a 30, so I think a 25 should be fine... Then again, I'm evil because I have a small yellow tang and a small flame angel in a 29 Shocked Good thing I'm picking my 125 up after the meeting Big%20smile

It's a cube if it makes any difference, probably makes it worse as it can't swim as far before hitting a wall.

Another thing to consider is that fish are more aggressive and more stressed in a smaller environment and have more difficulty establishing territory.
